AdultFriendFinder Acquisition - Penthouse May Be The Buyer

Well, you know how the saying goes, SEX SELLS. And for $500 million that seems to be very very true! -------------------------------------------------------------------------- More on the acquisition rumor from yesterday - another source now says they were acquired by Penthouse Media Group, and the price was closer to $500 million. Whether or not a transaction has occured is still somewhat vague, but it seems clear from multiple sources now that Various, Inc., the parent company to Adult FriendFinder and other sites, has at least been trying to sell itself aggressively.

Do I live in a ShoeBox? There was an oil spill? huh?

How is it possible that I JUST heard about the oil spill today at lunch? While I can't say I always make time to watch the news, and reading the newspaper isn't my top priority either... I DO listen to the radio and I am on line ALL THE TIME..... But it wasn't until today at lunch with girlfriend, that I found out there was a huge oil spill! As oil contaminated more beaches and birds throughout the Bay Area, Coast Guard officials today admitted they took too long to notify the public about the skyrocketing size of the ship-fuel spill but defended their response to the mess.

5.6 quake hit south bay

This is what caused my apartment to shake. Definitely feel it more being 3 stories up! Click on an earthquake on the above map for a zoomed-in view. BART Train Accident Closes Powell Station - News Story - KTVU San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO -- The Bay Area Rapid Transit Powell station in San Francisco continues to be shut down after a person was hit by a train at about 5:55 p.m., according to BART spokesman Linton Johnson. Some BART trains going into San Francisco are being directed back to the East Bay at Montgomery station and some trains from Millbrae and Daly City and being turned around at the 24th Street station, said Johnson. BART officials are allowing a few trains in each direction past Powell station without stopping on a single-track system.
