BART Train Accident Closes Powell Station - News Story - KTVU San Francisco
SAN FRANCISCO -- The Bay Area Rapid Transit Powell station in San Francisco continues to be shut down after a person was hit by a train at about 5:55 p.m., according to BART spokesman Linton Johnson. Some BART trains going into San Francisco are being directed back to the East Bay at Montgomery station and some trains from Millbrae and Daly City and being turned around at the 24th Street station, said Johnson. BART officials are allowing a few trains in each direction past Powell station without stopping on a single-track system. Johnson has reported the person is still under the train but the condition of the victim is not being released. Copyright 2007 by KTVU.com and Bay City News. All rights reserved.
